Oakridge’s Columbia Business Program, the Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation course
Oakridge International School in association with the Columbia Business School conducts Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program for high school students focused on business and entrepreneurship, delivered by Prof. Daniel McQuade, Director of Venture for All, Columbia Business School. Students gets the chance to learn actual business models and processes and also showcase their skills by presenting their business plans.
SGLI – Students Global Leadership Program
Oakridge International School in partnership with the prestigious Punahou School, Hawaii, USA conducts the SGLI in Hyderabad. The program, addresses different themes, where students discussed how to bridge connections across cultures and promote multicultural understanding, for a better tomorrow.
Oxford Summer Courses-
Oakridge International School in association with Oxford Summer Courses conducts an intensive summer course in its Bangalore school every year. The summer program helps bring world-class teaching methodology of some of the finest tutors from Oxford University to the students of India. The program opened up avenues for students and helped them understand the pedagogical methods of one of the top Universities of the world.
A platform like TEDx Talks, where speakers of different fields share their stories, and well-informed ideas in the form short but powerful talks inspires the entire world. To ignite that spark in a student, Oakridge provides TED-like talks platforms which allow them to host and organize the event all by themselves. Students benefit from listening to their peers and other esteemed speakers.
OAKMUN and OAKJMUN
Oakridge International School organises MUN for various age groups every year. 2017 Oak MUN and JMUN had speakers like Olympic Silver Medalist P. V. Sindhu and Actress-turned-social activist Amala Akkineni respectively. During the conferences, while Sindhu emphasized on the need to strike a balance between studies and sports, Amala spoke about animal safety and their conservation. At the MUN simulated conference this year, students engaged themselves in debates of various country representatives on International policy matters. Similarly, at the JMUN, students get to learn about the actual happenings across the globe and how different organizations are working to improve the situation.
Ocean Conservation 2016
Oakridge Visakhapatnam launched the “Save Our Beaches” initiative to preserve the beaches of Visakhapatnam through awareness campaigns, cleaning drives and conservation projects. In collaboration with International Ocean Conservancy, USA, and Indian Maritime Foundation, around 200 Oakridgers cleaned the beach from R.K.Beach to Panduragapuram area and sent a strong message of taking the initiative to save our beaches and marine life.
