Oakridgers shine at the Design Championship Competition

Our students in MYP took part in the Design Championship competition by Mindbox education this year with loads of enthusiasm. Raviish Panicker from Grade 7, Aditya Lingam from Grade 9, Sahasra Reddy, Ruhi Shah, Tanvi Srinivasan and Sravani Lingam from Grade 6 have all successfully passed the regionals and have entered the national level Design Championship contest in App Design, Game Design and Industrial Design respectively. Though the preparation had to happen virtually, our learners demonstrated excellent collaboration and teamwork to connect with their teammates in order to get their presentations ready. Many students in Grade 6 went the extra mile and took part in special sessions after school to discuss their ideas with their Design Teacher Ms Tamizh and got feedback on their work. Our young designers applied their Design thinking and presented ideas like an ideal desk design that can be used by schools keeping the social distancing protocols in mind. Learners followed the Design cycle and ideated possible solutions to the problem presented in the theme. As our learners have successfully cleared the regionals, we wish them all the best for the Nationals!
