During his recent visit to our school addressed students and staff and left them with an awe-inspiring message. He spoke about the power of belief and resilience through a fun-filled demonstration.
Dr. Terry invited two students onto the stage and breezed them through the basics of Karate pointing out that he had a “Black Belt”. Unfortunately, this was bought at the local supermarket and was not a symbol of any skill in the art. A sense of disbelief across the assembly took over when Dr. Terry challenged them to break an inch-thick wooden board. As expected, they could not break the board. He then reminded students to Be Ambitious, and never give up. After three tries, when the students snapped the board, jaws dropped followed by thunderous applause and a standing ovation.
