Mr.Simon Porter from Doha inspires students and teachers through Science

Mr. Simon Porter, Principal, Compass International School, Doha visited our school with Dr. Terry Creissen, Director, Nord Anglia Education, India. Little did the Grades 5 and 6 Students know what they were in for!

After the school tour, a session was held for Grades 5 and 6 in the school auditorium. He enthralled and mesmerized the students with his awe-inspiring words. He performed few experiments on Air and Gravity clearing the most common doubt of 100 gm feather being lighter than 10 gm iron!

The student volunteered to topple the pyramid of paper cups from a distance. Through this experiment, he demonstrated how the air travels exerting pressure.

He had the students out of their seats when he wore a burning sock on his feet teaching them temperature is dependent on vapor pressure.

He captivated the students by showing the Dry ice vapors explaining the concept of sublimation.

It was indeed a session where the students learned science concepts by doing and that too full of fun!
