An amalgam of scientific domains in the form of an exhibition of the Group 4 project in Grade 11 IBDP. On account of taking part in this core International Baccalaureate requirement, students were able to delve into the use of an interdisciplinary approach to foster learning and tackle real-world problems. The umbrella topic for this year’s event was “The impact of technology on the safety of individuals and societies,” which took on different forms in each of the unique and novel projects that were presented at the exhibition.
It was mesmerizing to see students in the group, presenting an array of ideas including the development of eco-friendly sanitary napkin, a chemical test for drugs commonly used to spike drinks, a Taser device inbuilt within a shoe which promoted women’s safety and many more. All in all, each group approached the umbrella topic with an inquisitive mindset and the collaboration, communication and critical thinking skills that they gained along the journey shall hopefully hold them in good stead in their future endeavours.
