Humraahi- Passing on the Baton to the New Batch
- 3 February 2026
On 31 Jan, the first Core Team of Humraahi, an initiative by the students of Oakridge Gachibowli, came to the end of its journey and formally handed over the reins to the new team. This moment marked the close of Humraahi’s first chapter and the beginning of a new one. The event was not just a transfer of roles, but a passing on of values, experiences, and the spirit that the initiative was built on.
The handover ceremony carried a strong emotional weight. Members of the outgoing team spoke about their journey, the challenges they faced, and the growth they witnessed both in children and in themselves.
Principal Dipika Rao addressed the gathering with warmth, appreciating the commitment of the first team and encouraging the new team to carry the initiative forward with the same honesty and dedication.
There was an emotional exchange between the Principal, volunteers, and both teams. They reflected the deep bonds formed through Humraahi and the shared sense of purpose that connected everyone in the room. The new core team was then introduced, and their roles were explained to ensure clarity and responsibility moving forward.
After the ceremony, the team spent time interacting with the students Humraahi serves. These interactions went beyond routine engagement. Through conversations and reflection activities, the volunteers were able to understand how the students viewed Humraahi, what it meant to them, and how they experienced learning within the programme.
Seeing the initiative through the students’ understanding made the impact of the work more real and grounded for the new team.
Teaching sessions followed, covering English, Science, and General Knowledge, supported by interactive activities that kept the children engaged and comfortable. The atmosphere throughout the day remained warm and energetic. Sharing meals with the children further strengthened the feeling of community and care that Humraahi aims to create.
Overall, the handover event successfully brought closure to the first phase of Humraahi while setting a strong foundation for what comes next. Responsibilities and leadership were passed on with intention and respect.
For the students, the day offered learning, interaction, and reassurance that Humraahi continues with the same commitment. The event reinforced the idea that Humraahi is not just a programme, but a growing community built on trust, continuity, and meaningful connection.
