Oakridgers participated in the National MIT-STEAM Festival

Three of our students – Sneha, Shaaraw, and Himanshu from Oakridge International School, Bachupally, participated in a two-day prestigious MIT-STEAM (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) festival, held at Nord Anglia’s Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam from January 9 – 10, 2020.

This festival was a platform for students from Oakridge International Schools across India to share their fervor for the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) approach towards learning. The festival offered an introduction to new technology and resources, guest lectures, hands-on activities and was an excellent opportunity for them to enhance 21st-century skills like collaboration and creativity.

They were actively involved in workshops on Science – Egg-drop experiment, Technology – Lego coding and Robotics, Engineering – building a 360-degree virtual reality, Arts – Drawing of an omelet cooking, and Mathematics – String Art, followed by MIT Expert talks by Professor Vijay Chandru and Dan Griffiths.
