Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. It is celebrated on the same day as Albert Einstein’s birthday. Pi Day celebrates the mathematical constant π (3.14).
On 15 March, Oakridgers celebrated the infinity of Pi. Our primary learners participated in different activities… some created pies with playdough, while others used the old CD’s to decorate the pi digits around the rim. Some measured the circumference and the diameter of a circular /cylindrical object using thread and scale to find that no matter how small or how big a circle is the circumference divided by the diameter is always “pi”. Just like pi’s digits, the possibilities are infinite.
It was indeed a green and environmentally-friendly way to understand and celebrate Pi Day.
