When a child is born, there are over 200 Billion neurons or cells in his/her brain. However, these neurons are not connected with each other at the time of birth. So, every time a child experiences something and uses one of the senses, a connection takes place between the neurons. This connection is called a Synapse. And these Synapses happen at the rate of 700 per second during the first 2000 days.
So, rich stimulating experiences provided to the child in their early years along with a positive & friendly environment result in formation of strong brain connections, thereby setting up a solid foundation for all future learning.
Our experiential Teaching Methodology
At Oakridge, our early years curriculum is delivered through an “Experiential Teaching Methodology”, one where kids learn through various learning experiences that activate their senses. So, for a chapter on airplanes, they would be taken to nearest airbase, so that they can see the planes in action, speak to the pilots and they would also have a role play in classroom. Engaging with the subject in different ways, allows the child to stimulate their senses, make stronger connections and thereby imbibing the concept more permanently in their mind.
Our engaging learning environment
An engaging and loving learning environment goes a long way in child’s development during the first 2000 days. Oakridge offers a warm and open environment, where kids love coming to school. Our teachers know how to help your child excel through delivering a personalised learning programme customized to their strengths and interests, thereby our students enjoy their learning experience.
