Your child’s big break during the summers

From matriculation through graduation, the goals for expected student learning have become ambitious and wide-ranging. Students of today’s age have to not only excel in academics but are also required to be exposed to sports, social events, and co-curricular activities; to become a holistic individual. This is because Universities across the globe look for students who can integrate years of learning into a connected and functional whole.

Summer programs provide high school students with opportunities to explore their academic interests and spark new passions. These programs also allow high school students to get a taste of college life and meet other students from all over the world. Attending these programs diversifies a student’s portfolio and enhances their demeanor as someone who has a global understanding and is market-ready, subsequently increasing their presence over other candidates. Keeping this in mind, Oakridge, also one of the top International Schools in Hyderabad hosts summer courses ranging from entrepreneurship to leadership programs involving global concerns.

Explore the business world with Columbia Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program

Entrepreneurship can be quite stressful but starting at high school allows a student to gain the necessary life skills and confidence to make it in the “real” world. This one-week course gives students an opportunity to be taught by the faculty of Columbia Business School™ where they will learn all about the venture-creation process. Mentored by Daniel McQuade, students will be assigned projects where they implement the learnings to test and develop their ideas. They will then showcase their project presentations to the panel of entrepreneurial tutors, for constructive feedback and reviews.

Students are guided through the new venture creation process and are taught to apply it to their own original ideas by Columbia Business School Faculty. Giving an early push to students through this university-level course, students are exposed to the theory and practice of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. These techniques are used by successful entrepreneurs all over the world, skills that took many of them years to develop but that students will be exposed to before they enter college!
