The 3rd edition of the summit hosted in Oakridge Hyderabad
Oakridge, one of the Top International Schools in Hyderabad won the highest ranking in the NDTV Behtar India’s Newspaper recycling contest leaderboard. This contest brought together hundreds of students from schools across the country as they participated in donating more number of used newspapers for recycling. The raised fund through this exercise will be then be utilized towards providing Dengue Protection kits for the underprivileged children. Oakridger Kalvakuntla Himanshu Rao contributed the highest and ranked No. 1 across India. Oakridge clinched the No.1 position in Telangana and No.3 position at the national level by donating 18649 kgs of the used newspaper, scoring 1,86,492 points in the leaderboard.
NDTV – DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance Behtar India GO GREEN City Summit is a city affair of national importance which is being hosted by the school with leading performance in recycling under Behtar Vatavaran. Oakridge is proud to win the privilege to organize this one-of-its-kind summit which was held on 14 September 2018 at Gachibowli Campus.
All the school participants of Behtar India competition across Telangana attended the summit and heard the panel discussion on green issues. Young kids witnessed the top visionaries discussing various ways of reducing, reusing and recycling the waste.
Behtar India will host many more summits across the nation in order to spread the awareness towards building a better India. The 3rd summit will conclude in the month of December, where Campaign Ambassador Parineeti Chopra for the Behtar India Awards 2018 will felicitate the winners. Once the summit concludes, the winning school gets designated as the NODAL SCHOOL for a month, which means, it will have the exclusive opportunity to mobilize the entire city to step forward and donate their used papers.
