Student entrepreneurs are getting ready with their big ideas!

The grand finale of the Schoolpreneur Summit 2018, also known as India’s biggest idea pitching event at the school level was hosted by Metamorphosis in association with Oakridge International School on 22nd December. The event was presided by the distinguished guests from different honorable fields including A.K.Goel, former advisor, Planning and Energy, Government of Telangana; Bhanu Prakash Varla, Entrepreneur, Mentor, CEO of Greylogic Technologies; Deepa Balasubramanian, Chief Executive Offer – The Sedibus; Pradeep Mittal, CEO at Great Four System Inc., and more.

Sudhakar Rao, Director in ICFAI Group; Kanika Tekriwal, Co-founder and CEO of JetSetGo; Dr. D. Usha Reddy, Sr. Principal of The Meridian School and Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary of the Telangana Government; partook in a panel discussion on “Establishing ecosystem for futurepreneurs”.

School students displayed their impressive entrepreneurial skills at the Schoolpreneur Summit 2018 finale organized at Oakridge Gachibowli campus in Hyderabad. While some came up with the design of a portal to connect school students and internship-providing corporates, some presented online tutorials, and online locker systems. With participation from over 100 schools from various states, more than 700 ideas were shortlisted and filtered in the roadshow of The Schoolpreneur Summit 2018.

Top 35 ideas with effective business content were selected for the finale, out of which, top 5 ideas were selected as the winners. Those top 5 ideas will be mentored by the government of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and also by Metamorphosis. Speaking on the occasion Jayesh Ranjan, state secretary for Information Technology said, “They will be provided with required mentorship and refinement needed so that these ideas can be are followed up and eventually become a success.”

Two teams from Oakridge, India’s Top International School have bagged the 1st and 2nd Prizes in The Schoolpreneur Summit 2018. Maanav Khaitan and Vinay Kanigicherla won the first prize for their business idea called ‘Skill-Sync’. It’s a digital platform that helps to connect skilled students with opportunities to complete projects for professional clients in need of services. The second prize was won by Oakridger Vaishnavi Pachava for her business idea called ‘Cramcure’. This online platform aims to customize the IGCSE preparation and curriculum to the student’s individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses with the accelerated learning and intensive mentorship.

The main motto of this event is to enable students to go through an entrepreneur journey at the school level by coming up with various business ideas and proposals. In addition, Pavan Allena- Founder and CEO of Metamorphosis said, “Schoolpreneur Summit is a platform through which we wanted to tell all stakeholders of the system that is possible at the school level”.
