Samiraaj, a grade 4 student from Oakridge International School, Mohali qualifies for Pre-Nationals (north zone) in sub-youth and youth category in the 10-meter Air Rifle Shooting competition, after competing in a state-level competition that was held in February 2021 in Mohali. He also bagged a Gold Medal in the same competition at the district level, held in January 2021 at Shooting range Mohali.

This 9-year-old kid was always inclined towards the art of shooting as he grew up seeing his father practicing and admiring the sport of shooting. Samiraaj has received multiple awards and accolades in 10-meter Air Rifle Open competitions held in 2019 and 2020 and was awarded by Shooter Dadi (Smt. Chandro Tomar) in Jan 2020. He loves playing different sports and reading books in his leisure time.

School has always been very supportive and encouraged me to strive for bigger goals and has always provided the best possible support and opportunities that would boost my confidence”, said Samiraaj.

I wholeheartedly congratulate and appreciate Samiraaj for this great achievement at such an early stage of life. His hard work, dedication, and intelligence brought pride to our school. I’m hoping that he will seize more such opportunities coming on his way and make us proud in the Pre-Nationals(north zone) in sub-youth and youth category in the 10-meter Air Rifle Shooting competition to be held in Jaipur in March 2021. ”, says Ramanjit Ghuman, School Principal, Oakridge Mohali.
