Message from the principal

My mother, who served as a Professor in a reputed degree college and later as the Principal until she retired, is my inspiration for choosing education as my calling. In my experience of both teaching and administrative roles in the top ranking international schools for the last 20 years, I believe education is the most effective way of first, positively transforming myself, and by extension and design, the children at my school, the colleagues at my workplace and the families I am responsible for.

The ethos and vision of Oakridge, Bangalore to create compassionate, future-ready individuals who can positively influence the world, resonates with my larger purpose in life. My role as the Principal at Oakridge is a means to serve the community (students, parents and teachers) with responsibility, clarity and joy so that our children can achieve far beyond our imagination. I do this by establishing a culture of cooperation and collaboration between all stakeholders because I firmly believe that we succeed only by working together.

Continuous and excellent professional development for all our teachers, safe and supportive environment for all our learners and a focused emphasis on all round student achievement in academics, sports, music and art, sums up the education strategy I have been implementing at Oakridge. Being part of the prestigious Nord Anglia Education (NAE) group of 81 premier schools across the world, gives our students access to visit and participate in events curated by the world renowned MIT (Massachusetts Institute of technology), thrive in music, drama and art  due to our tie up with The Julliard School (New York), and opportunities to participate and present papers at UNICEF.

Additionally, through the unique learning platform called Global campus, 81 schools (and counting) removed by geography, language and culture converge to enhance and showcase their achievements internationally. And they don’t have to wait until they reach board classes; they start expanding their horizon from Primary years itself. The professional development opportunities for our staff through Nord Anglia University help teachers keep up with international trends in teaching.

This global presence and associations not only guarantee the best university placements for our students; they also enable students to excel both academically and personally thereby achieving our goal of creating compassionate, future ready individuals. With outstanding board results for both MYP (grade 10) and DP (grade12), surpassing the world averages comfortably, we provide excellence in education leading to success in life.

I welcome you all to join us in this transformational journey.
