Ms. Soma

Ms. Soma has been with the Oakridge family for the past 6 years and is, currently, working as the Grade Level Coordinator for Nursery and EYP1. She had received MS (Soil Science) degree from Louisiana State University, USA before moving to Ohio State University for further studies and worked as an assistant teacher as well. After working with UC Davis, MBA program for some time, she had started her own playschool/childcare centre in Folsom, California. After shifting to Sammamish, WA completed Montessori certification from MCTE, Bellevue, WA and worked as the lead teacher in Lakeside Montessori, Kirkland, WA.

After moving to India, she had joined Oakridge as Grade 2 Homeroom Teacher, after a short teaching period in Elements Montessori. In Oakridge, later, she had moved to Grade 4 & 5 as Homeroom Teacher, before taking up the Early Year leadership role. Although she had started teaching as a profession, over the years it has become her second passion, the first being Dance. She had received Bachelor (Music) in Dance from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad before completion of Grade 12.
