  • 26 June 2018

Indian students experienced the teaching and learning style of Oxford University

To make students global-ready, Oakridge, one of the best schools in Bengaluru conducted yet another session of Oxford Summer Courses in India this year from 15th June to 24th June in its Bengaluru campus. This program opened up avenues for students and helped them understand the pedagogical methods of one of the top Universities of the world. Students explored world-class teaching methodology of some of the finest tutors from Oxford. They were nurtured to develop necessary academic and study skills, intellectual rigor and creativity needed at a world-class university.

Around 85 students from 55 different schools across India participated and had the opportunity to study a variety of subjects like Medicine, Leadership, Law, Creative Writing, and Business and Entrepreneurship, which helped them to explore subjects of their interest. During this 10-day summer course program in Bengaluru, students had debates and discussions on current issues as well as they took part in various other activities like thematic workshops, drama, and theatre, etc., which helped them improve their leadership skills. The students keenly observed all the happenings during the program and focused on developing their own presentation alongside the peers of Oxford. Students were also guided on the admission process to the Oxford University as part of the program. In addition to the offerings, letter of recommendation and certificates were awarded to the students.

“The OSC was indeed an eye opener for all of us. We were amazed at the ease with which the students were discussing relevant and current issues in the fields of Medicine, Law, and Business. Students’ desire to work on their profile and also to improve their writing skills shows the maturity of thought. Great friendships were also crafted during this stay with the interactions of students from across India. Truly a pleasure to connect and interact with these children” said Hema Chennupaty, Principal, Oakridge International School, Bengaluru.
