Top UK universities are pursuing this multi-talented girl from Visakhapatnam

Academic Prefect, Grade Topper, Science and Math Olympiad Champion, Spell Bee winner, and International MUN Delegate: this is Divya , a grade 12 student from Oakridge Visakhapatnam who recently received admission offers from the top UK universities such as the University of Manchester, University of Exeter, King’s College London, and the University of Bristol to study Politics, Philosophy, and International Relations. She is looking at a potential career in diplomacy, law, and politics, and she is overwhelmed by the response.

“We are proud of Sivani’s admissions, wherein she proved that the opportunities provided by the school helped her achieve her best,” said Biju Baby, Principal at Oakridge Visakhapatnam.

Sivani has been a consistent academic performer and is also one of the class toppers. Do you think being academically sound is all it takes to get into top world universities? Well, not really!

With an ever-changing world, the top-world universities look for well-rounded students possessing multi-faceted skills who not only do well in academics but also excel in other areas of life. Throughout her journey in school, Sivani engaged in various activities; primarily, reading books related to philosophy and science — Jostein Gaarder is her favorite author. Apart from reading, she is keen on writing stories as well as analog and digital artwork.

Beyond academic studies, Sivani always believed in taking an active part in different activities such as drawing and painting, wherein she has won several inter-school and intra-school championships and Hindi Writing competitions at All India level. She has won multiple medals in Spell Bee, Quiz, and International Olympiads in Mathematics and Science, and secured 1st place in Extempore Competition.

This apart, she has participated in several international MUNs and has won accolades. Sivani was awarded the MERIT CERTIFICATE from ICE and has won the Academic Excellence Certificate — quite befitting for Academic Prefect at Oakridge, one of the top international schools in Visakhapatnam. Further, as the class representative, Sivani has honed her leadership skills, most critical of which is the ability to engage effectively with the senior management and articulate her class and peers’ views.

I was able to find the ideal universities by exploring several options and understanding their criteria of selection,” said Sivani. She believes that “Research and hard work are the key elements to get into globally recognized universities. The more research you do, the clearer the idea you get.”

Several Oakridgers like Divya Sivani have got multiple offers from the top-most universities of the world. You might have come across the news when Top World Universities vie for Oakridger Amita Gondi and she had to choose between Harvard and Stanford. Be it Nikhil Jain, Tvisha Mehta, Kuhuk Shroff or Divyansh Saxena, all these Oakridgers are now studying at their dream universities.
