Oakridge International School students won several medals at the Punjab State Yoga and Artistic Yoga Championship under the 8–12 age category held on 5 May 2018 at the Magnet Resort, Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana. Among 230 student participants from 9 neighboring districts, 18 students were from Oakridge Mohali.
Each student participant from Oakridge, one of the top schools in Chandigarh clinched winning positions in the championship each thereby endorsing their stupendous performance in the face of fierce competition and immense pressure.
Jasparwaz Singh of 9 won the best performance trophy in boys group while Paakhi Gupta of 9 received a prize for her overall best performance in the girl’s group in the championship, organized by Yoga Society of Punjab and Everest Yoga Institute. The boy’s team (Angad, Abhimanyu, Abhiyodit, Jasperwaz, Gautam, and Nouman) and girl’s team (Kashish, Sneha, Virajdeep, Paakhi, Tanvi, and Saba Singh) were awarded silver medals. Three students won bronze medals in the individual category. All the medal winners will participate in the National Level Yoga Competition. Oakridge coach Nirmal Singh got the ‘Award of Honor’ at the Punjab State Yoga and Artistic yoga Championship.
