This academic year the excursion to Simla and Manali for the senior students was schedule in the month of October. We reached Delhi on the first day and embarked on an exhausting 12 hour drive to Simla. The next day we departed to our hotel in Simla and were mesmerized by the scenic beauty of the “Queen of Hills”. From there, we set out to Manali and enjoyed another exhilarating and slightly adventurous bus ride and were completely engrossed in the ethereal surroundings. As part of our tour we visited the shawl factory, where we witnessed the labor required to knit just one shawl, and subsequently bought shawls. The last day was possibly the most thrilling as the troop went to Rohtang Pass, at an altitude of 13,000 ft, and enjoyed climbing the various platforms and hills in and around the area. The view of the mountains with the fluffy white snow, flaking over the top was breath taking, and a very memorable experience. This was the last in our schedule and we finally had to pack my bags. We had a brilliant time and have wonderful memories of the trip that we would cherish all our lives.
