What is Carbon Footprint?

A Carbon footprint measures your personal or household output of carbon dioxide (CO2) in pounds. The larger the number, the greater your carbon footprint and the greater your affect on global warming. Carbon Dioxide is the by-product of emissions from our vehicles, heating our homes, using electricity and from other activities in our daily lives. It is also the leading greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change. The term Footprint refers to the impact we are having on the Earth.

On Earth day during assembly, kids were given the task by the School Principal Ms.Ghuman to find the meaning of Carbon Footprint. She asked the teachers to help students research about carbon footprint and make a presentation after one week on How to reduce Carbon Footprint. Kids took this project enthusiastically and researched how they can reduce carbon footprint.

Yesterday in assembly kids can back with the completed task. There was one child from each class who came up and gave presentation. Kids explained various reasons and also gave solutions to reduce carbon footprint. Grade 6 students made beautiful Poster which was placed on the board for the whole school to read.

Excellent task and great Learning.
