The month of March ended in a grand way as the Grade 2 students of Oakridge International School, Newton Campus, enthralled everyone with their performances in the much awaited World of Activities. The students looked graceful in their characters as they rocked the stage in colourful costumes and captivated the audience with their lively energy. They performed three different plays namely, “The Smell in the Court” written by the eminent playwright Sukumar Ray, “Tenali Raman” and “Mulla Nasiruddin”. The characters of the plays came alive as the students performed their best and looked magnificent as the, ‘Royal Characters’, ‘Sadhus’, ‘Villagers’, ‘Tenali Raman’ and ‘Mulla Nasiruddin’. The audience were mesmerized and awestruck with the confidence showed by the children on stage. They worked on their creative skills, thinking skills, imagination skills and kept a focus on the body language of the characters, voice modulation and expressions to present the sparkling and extraordinary performances in front of their parents and teachers. The students also showed their spatial awareness, dialogue delivery, use of microphones at such early age which are the important factors during any performance. The school definitely looks into holistic development of a child, making them truly “international minded”. The parents could not stop gushing over the performances they witnessed.
