University of Pennsylvania, University College London, University of York, King’s College London – these are among the world’s top universities, and institutions that have great appeal. No wonder it inspires awe in many students. While getting admissions into one of these universities is absolutely challenging, Oakridger Kuhuk Shroff was pursued by all these universities.
Kuhuk is currently studying at University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School, Philadelphia. She is one of 25 students, pursuing a Dual Degree in The Roy and Diana Vagelos Program in Life Sciences and Management (B.sc in Economics, BA in Biology), and currently have a GPA of 3.9/4.0 and on Dean’s list. Lately she was offered a job in Management Consulting at Deloitte Strategy and Operations in New York. So what has really helped Kuhuk achieve such phenomenal success? Is it the impressive global ranking she has secured or the all-round skills that she has acquired during her schooling? Let’s look at her schooling journey to get a deeper understanding.
“My journey with Oakridge started when I was just 3 years old – bright eyed, curious and timid. I was the second child to be enrolled in the school so I grew up with Oakridge and it grew up with me. Now being at the brink of graduating from a prestigious college, I can reflect on my journey and honestly say that Oakridge has catalyzed my transition from a reticent young girl to a confident woman who is ready to make a difference in the real world” says Kuhuk.
She has always aced all her academics results at school. Not only she is an IBDP Top Performer (45/45 score- Grade 11 and 42/45 score – Grade 12) but is also an IGCSE topper with 8 A*s secured highest rank in India for Physics, Environmental Management and Business Management.
But the secret to her success is that, other than academics, Kuhuk has proved herself as ‘the best’ beyond the classroom at Oakridge, one of the best schools in Hyderabad. She has dabbled into a plethora of extra-curricular activities and boasts deserving titles in multiple fields. With an outstanding presentation of research paper on the topic of 2008-2009 Great Recession, she has won the “Best Research Paper” in the IGCSE’s business week. To make the most of summer opportunities, Kuhuk participated in selective summer programs – Yale’s Entrepreneurship, NUS’s (National University of Singapore) Science Camp, etc.
Talking about leadership skills, she has volunteered a total of 10 MUNs including Harvard MUN and Ecole MUN as Secretariat as well as took the role of coach to JMUN students and has won multiple ‘Best Delegate Awards’. The roles and responsibilities of a student council representative was also undertaken by her very actively at the school and is still taking it up as part of the alumni board. In addition to the multifaceted skills that she acquire, Kuhuk is a master of Kathak Dance form. One of the most crucial interest that makes her a distinctive individual is her passion for community service. Being part of multiple community service initiatives at the school, raising funds for cancer patients, teaching in underprivileged schools, spreading awareness about voting are a few to name.

Kuhuk is testimony to how an wholistic development in a student is highly regarded and pursued by the best universities and the best companies in the world. Kuhuk is currently working on connecting international students with students at prestigious colleges like Penn, Columbia, Cornell etc through her YouTube Channel called “The College Collab”.
