"Find the right balance between your intellectual and creative interests", says Oakridger Divyansh Saksena, now studying at the University of California, Berkeley. Divyansh has dabbled in various areas throughout his schooling journey and now finds himself on-course to pursue his dreams. He also received offers from University College London and Edinburgh University.

Apart from being the Headboy and CBSE Nationals Basketball Player, Divyansh has also taken the roles of Valedictorian, Indian Delegation Member for the Mandela Gandhi Youth Summit in South Africa 2014, Panelist at University Guidance Conference 2017 held by Univariety, Under-Secretary-General Of Policy for OakMUN, Delegate for 8 MUNs, Executive Board for 11 MUNs, TEDx speaker at TEDx Youth@Gachibowli, Team Leader for MIT Launch at Oakridge, Organiser for BizBlitz -Oakridge’s Business Fest, Founder of Project Prism— an event spreading awareness for the LGBTQ Community.
“As a recent high-school graduate, I, too, had to go through the labyrinth of college applications competing against thousands of children from across the globe. It’s hard setting yourself apart when you compete at such a grand scale. However, I was lucky enough to be part of a school that not only helped me develop my interests but explore fields, too. As a keen international relations enthusiast, I was able to participate in MUN conferences across the country using them as a platform to develop my public speaking skills which became my “hook”, says Divyansh.
Speaking about the academic skills, he has scored remarkably well in 10th Grade with 10 CGPA while studying at Oakridge, one of the renowned IB Schools in Hyderabad. He has been the School Topper for Accountancy in 12th Grade Board Exam securing 95.6% and has also received Academic Excellence Awards for four consecutive years.
It was his ability to balance his co-curricular activities along with his academic pursuits is what sets him apart today. In all respects, Divyansh is a testimony to what the top-world universities prefer, academically sound, multi-faceted and world-ready student.
“Having found my interests I was able to stand out from the crowd and streamline my focus to exploring these further: something I continue to do at college! I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to pursue meaningful extracurriculars which eventually led me to find my academic major in Economics and Data Science”, says Divyansh.
